Georgian 'Queen Anne' Paste Brooch
A rare Georgian-era brooch consisting of amethyst-hued & white black-dot paste stones. A classic example of 'Queen Anne' jewelry - this brooch was initially a pair of earrings. As with many earrings of this style, one half may have been lost & the remaining was converted into a brooch. Made over 250 years ago, the foil-backed paste stones are in wonderful & original condition. Lovely as a brooch, but would look brilliant as a pendant strung on a chunky gold chain.
Era: Georgian, c.1750
Materials: Paste, Silver, Metal pin fittings
Size: 30x32mm
Condition: Very good. Slight surface wear to paste stones, patina on silver. Small hole present behind brooch where original earring fitting was removed when converted into a brooch.
